I have been a hardcore gamer for more than 10 years now I got all the gear and all the consoles, well most of the consoles. I enjoyed killing diabo in diablo 1,2 and 3, i had fun wining the world of skyrim, and I definitely enjoyed guild wars 2 and the world of warcraft.
However, lately or more like for the past three years I feel like the gaming world is not moving at all. All we get are super hyped games that don't deliver.
For example, diablo 3, guild wars 2 and a few others I rather not name. I invested 60$ for each of these games, enjoyed it for a few hours or a couple of days, and then I was back to my normal routine leaving them to "gather dust" sort speak.
I should point out I'm not the easiest person to please or what you usually call the average gamer. I'm pretty much hardcore and I generally only go for online games, and yet I feel there are no new ideas in the online gaming world.
Many big games from considerable names came out this year and every one of them just failed to put up with expectation.
There is an heavy buzz around many gaming community that every game is just boring and game makers are just out of ideas.
Look at the gear, the computers the mouses the screens all got better, stronger, faster and with the ability to deliver us so much more a 20 mega and even 100 mega internet connections are now super cheap, I got my 100 mega broad-band connection for 10$ a month(that's like 2 cups of Joe) yet where is our game? sitting in the past, running on old engines and aged ideas failing or even unwilling to give us something better.
Maybe their thinking if it's not broken what's to fix the truth is even diablo 3 got many gamers running to it when it launched but what companies should look at is the fact that many gamers run away from it after two days of playtime.
No problem then don't remake the world of warcraft no one wants that, but where is the new graphic. Where is some gaming innovation all, we find today are comic like games from steam.
A few nice games did come out these last few years like the league of legends that really got me hocked but few others I must admit.
A super awesome idea is the secret world which is working on giving something new, and I personally believe it's great the moment, they will fix their clunky controls I will probably be back to that train.
When I was younger checking out games with friends was great, it was what we did all day long after school, but now I don't have the time for that I just want one or two games that can keep me busy for the next 2-3 months or more.
Blowing off steam online (and I don't mean the kinky option) is one of my favorite things to do on my spare time between work.
If you believe that the gaming industry is falling down, please like and twitt this article and if possible comment, and if were lucky enough maybe some gaming company will manage to notice this call.
